Dental Sleep Medicine

Everything you need to know to join dentistry’s fastest growing sector

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) affects an estimated 50 million adults in the United States with more than 80% of patients undiagnosed.¹ Due to significant rates of CPAP intolerance and major insurers now mandating a trial of oral appliance therapy before approving more invasive surgical options, the Dental Sleep Medicine sector is booming, with an annual average growth of 7% and expected to exceed $8 Billion by 2030.² Now is the perfect time to add this high-growth sector to your practice.

This Travel CE Package offers the information you need to incorporate Dental Sleep Medicine and OSA treatment to your practice.  Lead by Dr. Jeff Brockett DDS, an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist and Sleep Dentistry practitioner, you will learn about OSA pathology and its link to TMJ, diagnostic criteria including use of CBCT and current treatment options.

You’ll also gain insight from Dr. Brockett about the necessary protocols for adding Dental Sleep Medicine into your practice, including staffing and lab needs, as well as advice on local networking to gain clients. There will be a focus on navigating insurance related to sleep dentistry. Our didactic weekend concludes with an interactive workshop to move stepwise through what you’ve learned for diagnosis, treatment planning, and clerical management of real patient cases.

This weekend of learning will take place in sunny Puerto Vallarta on a trip that balances education and fun. It includes accommodation at a private villa just steps away from the beach with a private chef who will prepare breakfast each day. Lectures will be broken into two learning-filled mornings, followed by afternoon excursions such as a taco crawl, group dinners, and a drag show. To cap off the weekend we’ll take a trip on the water for an all inclusive afternoon of fun in the sun on a private yacht, with optional waterfall hike.

We designed this trip for enterprising dentists who want to learn the valuable content presented by an expert, but also want to have fun! Our travel package combines the best of both.  Dentist participants are encouraged to bring a +1 to enjoy the long weekend. Prices are based on double occupancy with mixed double and two queen bed rooms, single occupancy surcharge applies.

In addition to the 8 hours in-person learning offered by Dr Brockett, Brilliant Dental Continuing education is excited to announce we are partnering with HealthBiz Mastery who will offer learners an additional 12 hours of business-development CE via their self-directed learning portal. Offering a combined total of 20 hours of CE for just one weekend in the sunshine, this trip is the perfect way to start 2027. See you there!

Tax Deductions

As a necessary work-related expense, travelling for continuing education is an eligible tax deduction. We will provide all of our learners with an itemised invoice that breaks down the headline price into line items including the cost of the CE and accommodation (normally 100% deductible) as well as food and entertainments (typically 50% deductible) so you can account for the trip accurately and fairly. We recommend you seek advice from a qualified accountant if you have specific questions.

What You'll Learn
