Managing & Preventing Implant Complications

Master advanced implant planning and complication management for predictable restorative success.

The U.S. dental implant market is experiencing unprecedented momentum. Currently valued at up to $2.1 billion and projected to surge toward nearly $10 billion by 2030 at a remarkable annual growth rate.¹ This boom is being propelled by the aging Baby Boomer generation, a massive, affluent patient demographic that possesses both the private insurance coverage and the disposable income necessary to actively invest in premium smile restorations.² As the volume of implants placed nationwide climbs to over 5 million annually the opportunity is clear.³

Avoiding dental implant complications requires a comprehensive approach that integrates surgical precision with restorative foresight, with a clear understanding of the final restorative outcome. This involves meticulous pre-surgical planning. Mal-alignment of implants can lead to significant restorative challenges, including failure to restore or failure of the restoration, compromised aesthetics, and occlusal discrepancies. Addressing these issues necessitates a multifaceted strategy: correcting implant angulation through angled abutments, utilizing custom abutments, and, in some cases, performing corrective surgeries. Advanced digital technologies, such as computer-guided surgery and CAD/CAM systems, play a crucial role in achieving optimal implant positioning and enhancing restorative precision.

Dr. Mohamad Attia is an accomplished international lecturer with expertise in implant planning and management. Dr. Attia will provide a master class in preventing and managing implant complications. This lecture series will highlight appropriate patient selection and planning, to mitigate potential complications, and provide insight as to why complications occur and how they can be managed.

Dr. Kate Dubois, an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist and the Chief Educational Officer of Brilliant Dental Continuing Education, will provide invaluable review of important CBCT anatomy and pertinent pathology and incidental findings, as well as a lecture dedicated to implant site evaluation, including evaluation of augmented sites.

In addition to this high-quality CE, you’ll enjoy a week-long trip of bespoke activities planned by locals in Porto and the North of Portugal. Some mornings will be for learning, and afternoons and full days will be filled with planned private tours and meals, day trips to nearby sites, including an incredible day in the Douro Valley,  a sunset cruise, and free time for exploring at your own pace.
